Unveiling a Unique Steam Demo: Guiding a Piece of Feces with the Goal to Find the Toilet
Steam Next Fest is now live, and players have discovered plenty of interesting creations from small studios. But, one stands out for its offbeat concept. Called Unko Technica, this classic-feel side-scrolling game includes a hero that is literally a piece of poop attempting to travel to a commode. As a fun fact, "Unko" translates to "poop."
How you interact is simple: just use a one button to leap. Across one hundred fifty levels, encounter tough enemies and access a store to buy outfits for your poop character.
Execute your actions precisely, as a wrong move forces beginning again. Bounce on air pockets to propel the poop upward, traverse disappearing platforms, and touch triggers to reveal new areas. Gather coins and use them on more difficult game content as the action gets crazy.
Graphically, the demo shows off neon level designs and a killer soundtrack. The retro art of moving basic polygons evokes memories of gamers of classic titles like Earthbound.
Although tough to name other games where you control a piece of feces, gaming often included fecal matter. For example, in Death Stranding, players create grenades from protagonist excrement. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved utilize feces as soil enrichment. And of course, such content is present heavily in the role-playing game The Stick of Truth.
Regardless of its silly idea, Unko Technica has already earned impressive recognition, such as being named best at a major publisher's GYAAR Studio in 2023. A playable preview is available now on Steam, with the complete version scheduled to debut on computers on November 19.
